pyrite stones | partially tumbled

pyrite was one of the first rocks in my collection as a kid. also called fool’s gold, it’s an iron disulfide mineral (iron + sulfur) that’s used in the production of sulfuric acid. “pyr” means fire in greek & refers to the sparks that pyrite emits when it’s struck by metal.
